Install Gaionix Coder
Install the macOS Apple Silicon CLI or VS Code extension, verify the archive checksum, and keep the CLI/runtime pair together.
macOS security disclosure
This v1.0.0 release supports macOS Apple Silicon only. Its executables are ad-hoc signed, without Apple Developer ID signing or notarization. macOS may require your explicit approval before either executable can run; managed devices may block it. A matching SHA-256 verifies download integrity, not Apple trust or a malware assessment.
Read the macOS approval steps before installing →Choose an interface
Use VS Code for chat, editor integration, reviewed diffs, and tool approvals. Use the CLI for a terminal interface or headless tasks. Version 1.0.0 provides macOS Apple Silicon artifacts; do not install this archive on Intel Macs, Windows, or Linux.
Install the CLI
On macOS Apple Silicon, run the official one-command installer:
curl -fsSL https://gaionix.com/install.sh | bashThe readable installer script pins version 1.0.0 and verifies SHA-256 before extracting or executing either binary. It installs without sudo into ~/.local/bin, keeps prior managed releases, and refuses to overwrite unrelated files. It does not edit shell profiles, collect credentials, send telemetry, or create background services. If needed, follow its printed PATH command. Repeating the installer is safe when installed files remain intact.
Gatekeeper may block the verified executable. If that happens, the active installation stays unchanged. Review the official per-executable approval guidance below, then rerun the installer.
For a manual installation, download the archive and checksum into the same directory:
shasum -a 256 -c gaionix-coder-cli-1.0.0-darwin-arm64.tar.gz.sha256 &&
tar -xzf gaionix-coder-cli-1.0.0-darwin-arm64.tar.gz && ./gaionix-coder --versionFor a versioned manual installation, keep both executables in one directory:
mkdir -p "$HOME/.local/opt/gaionix-coder-1.0.0"
tar -xzf gaionix-coder-cli-1.0.0-darwin-arm64.tar.gz -C "$HOME/.local/opt/gaionix-coder-1.0.0"
"$HOME/.local/opt/gaionix-coder-1.0.0/gaionix-coder" --helpAdd that versioned directory to your shell PATH using your normal shell configuration. Keep the sibling gaionix-coder-agent beside the CLI.
Install for VS Code
Use the Marketplace when the stable listing is published, or install the downloaded VSIX through Extensions → “…” → Install from VSIX. The extension ID stays gaionix.gaionix-coder. The package requires VS Code 1.106 or later.
code --install-extension gaionix-coder-1.0.0-darwin-arm64.vsixVS Code Marketplace listing — listing availability begins after publication.
macOS download protection
This release is not Apple Developer ID signed or notarized. Verify the official download checksum before extracting. If Gatekeeper blocks an executable, review the per-executable user approval instructions and decide whether to permit that specific file. If approval is unavailable, stop and contact support. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally or routinely remove quarantine attributes.
Update, roll back, or uninstall
Install a new CLI version into a separate directory, verify both executables, then update PATH. Roll back by selecting the previous versioned directory. In VS Code, use Install Another Version or a retained verified VSIX. Uninstalling binaries or the extension does not automatically erase local session data. Back up sessions before deleting them.
